Which grade do you need?

Grade 1 — Rustic

This grade admits all species natural variations and many imperfections, such as minerals, splits and cracks and sound knots that can be found every one or two planks. The knot diameters range from ¼ inch to ¾ inch.

This grade, which is a mix of Rustic and Millrun, presents all natural wood variations and admits checks and star and sound knots with limitations.

Grade 3 — Millrun

This grade presents all natural wood variations. However, it admits very few imperfections. So you will not find any cracks, checks or knots. There may be some mineral stains.

Grade 4 — Pacific

Admitting far fewer natural variations than Millrun grade, Pacific, which doesn’t accept cracks, checks nor star knots, has a slightly contrasting and rich appearance.

Finishes suiting your style!

The final step is choosing the finish. If you want a low-maintenance finish, go for the matte oiled one. On the other hand, if you want a shock-and-scratch-resistant finish, matte and satin varnishes are good options. As for the semi-gloss varnish, it will enhance the tint of your flooring.
